Position: SUPERVISOR MEDICAL DATA ENTRY

CONTEXT
Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, not-for-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in distress, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.
MSF has been active in Katsina since February 2021 after carrying an exploratory mission that end up with an opening of the project.
Currently, MSF is running an ITFC (Inpatient Therapeutic Feeding Centre) in Katsina in the Kofar Sauri PHCC
and Turai Yar’adua Hospital and 5 ATFC (Ambulatory Therapeutic Feeding Centre) including three in Jibia LGA (Magama, Daddara, Riko,), one in Mashi LGA and one in Katsina City (Kofar Marusa).
MAIN PURPOSE
Ensure completion of all activities related to medical data entry and data management into the mission database. Supervise, organize, and plan the activity of Data Entry officers/operators, as well as identify their
training needs in order to provide a good service support and reliability of the data collected.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Work with different departments (ATFC & ITFC) and their supervisors to ensure appropriate collection of data on each respective department.
- Supervise, organize and plan the activity of Data Entry officers/operators to have a reliable record of medical activity performed, as well as identify their training/technical support needs in order to provide
a good service support and reliability of the data collected. - Ensure collation and entry of all data identified by project managers for collection (e.g. morbidity,
mortality, surveillance of diseases of epidemics, nutrition,psychological and women’s health, etc) into
the appropriate data management system while ensuring quality of data - Do quality control data officers’ performance on regular basis
- Know and ensure proper use of software used for recording (Praxis, DHIS2, Dashboard. Epi Info, etc.).
- Ensure accuracy of the medical data entered into the mission’s database on a regular basis, according
to MSF protocols and carry out regular back-ups. - Provide technical support to data entry officers/operators in project sites and give response to their training needs.
- Provide regular statistical reports for the medical team as well as informing the line manager of any missing information, major changes or big differences in data
- Summarizes the monthly report and shares with the team
- Planining roster and annual leave for the team under his/her supervision
- Assist in the development of new data collection formats when necessary for each department
- Provide regular statistical reports for the medical national and expatriate team, as well as informing his/her supervisor of any missing information, major changes to the activity or big differences in data.
- Support his/her supervisor in the preparation of the monthly medical report.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Essential proven computer literacy, higher national diploma, or degree in
administration, monitoring and evaluation or in statistics. Degree in Information and Technology (IT) desirable.
Experience
- Essential: Working experience of at least one year with MSF
Knowledge - Essential knowledge of use of computer including processing of documents
(Word, Excel). - Knowledge of data entry software’s like DHIS, Praxis, PowerBI, Excel and
Epi info, etc. - Desirable knowledge on medical statistics data bases.

REMUNERATION
According to MSF salary scale plus 13th month allowance equivalent to 1 month of gross salary
