Programme Coordinator, Conflict and Peacebuilding (Gashua) at ActionAid (AA) Nigeria

We are recruiting to fill the following position within the Humanitarian unit:

Job Title: Programme Coordinator, Conflict and Peacebuilding

Location: Gashua, Yobe

Summary

  • The post holder will lead the technical design and implementation of peacebuilding & social cohesion initiatives across project locations, particularly in Borno and Yobe States.
  • The role focuses on strengthening community-based mechanisms for conflict prevention and resolution, promoting social cohesion, and integrating conflict-sensitive approaches into all aspects of program delivery. 
  • S/he will also support capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and the identification of innovative practices to improve the impact and sustainability of peacebuilding programming.

Person Specifications
Education / Qualification:

  • First Degree in Social Sciences / Art or related fields is essential.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience, 2 of which should be in humanitarian responses context with a strong focus on both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies is essential.
  • Experience in organizing and managing community events is essential.
  • Previous experience in Third Party Monitoring (TPM) is essential.
  • Proven ability to interact with community members, leaders, and partners is essential.
  • Background in addressing community concerns and resolving issues effectively is essential.
  • Experience using ODK for quantitative data collection is essential.
  • Related experience on WFP funded project is desirable.

Skill / Abilities:

  • Strong skills with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive, and other cloud-based software tools.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility
  • Fluency in written and spoken fluency in English is a must; additional fluency in Hausa is preferred
  • Excellent strategic planning skills
  • Excellent knowledge on the management key stakeholders and community mobilisation.
